Asset Management

HelpSTAR enables you to track and manage all of the assets in your organization. This will enable you to optimize your IT resources, and control your hardware and software expenditures. Asset management will also allow you and your staff to:

  • Determine how assets are allocated
  • Analyze your inventory to get the best return on your IT investment
  • View workstation configurations and service histories
  • Track and manage asset maintenance
  • Review warranty and leasing information
  • Monitor software licensing compliance
  • Analyze your inventory for future upgrades
    (Note that you will need to utilize HelpSTAR’s user defined fields in order to facilitate some of the above features.)

Asset management is integrated with purchase order functionality. When products are received they become assets and are automatically allocated to users, departments, companies or workstations for which they were requested.

Workstation inventory can also be captured by HelpSTAR’s Auto Discovery (auditing) utility. The scanned hardware and software data is automatically imported and linked to workstations in the database. This information can help the IT administrator determine workstation configurations and to manage software license compliance.
Detailed reporting will allow managers to analyze the allocation of assets, and the distribution of costs across the organization..

Managers can also run reports to calculate the cost of supporting each asset, and to identify the organization’s most troublesome assets. They can use this information to service or replace problem assets, schedule maintenance visits, rotate spare equipment, etc.
